Our Client Feature for March is one amazing individual! She has been put through more injuries and agony than most people will ever experience, and she has managed to find a way to overcome those obstacles! We are extremely proud of all that she has accomplished and continue to be amazed at the things she is now able to do! Every week she is working hard at becoming a stronger individual, both physically and mentally! - Tell us a bit about yourself: I had 2 back surgeries in 1990 and wore a back brace for 22 years. I met Greg and he started using Muscle Activation Techniques. Within about 2 months I was strong enough to take off the back brace and no longer rely on it. Greg then started me on an exercise program that was very specific to my needs. That’s the great thing about having a personal trainer with a degree in Muscle Activation Techniques, he can adjust my workout to my ability each day.
- How long have you been working out with Matrix of Motion? I have been working at Matrix of Motion for about 3 years
- What is your Workout/Exercise/Therapy history: For years I have gone to the gym and thought I could just go in and work machines and all would be well, but before long I would do something to hurt myself, quit the gym and do nothing for a year or so. And then I’d go back and repeat the whole thing over and over. It was a never ending cycle of injuries.
- Why did you start working with Matrix of Motion? I knew that I couldn’t continue on living in constant pain and worrying about whether every little activity that I do will hurt. I needed to start strengthening my muscles properly. Once the Muscle Activation Techniques strengthened my back to the point where I could get out of my back brace, I decided I needed help learning how to work out properly. And what better way than a personal trainer who also specialises in M.A.T.
- What do you like most about working with Matrix of Motion? I love that Greg is always encouraging me to keep trying when I sometimes want to give up and he makes me beleive that I can reach my goals.
- What has your experience been like? So amazing! So informative! So much fun! Love it!
- What are your goals? Anything specific that you are working towards? I want to continue to build strength so I can live a pain free life and to feel better about myself.
- What do you use as motivation to help keep you moving forward? My motivation is the change I see and feel in myself. And of course Greg is the best motivator. He constantly encourages me to keep going. When I have a setback, and I’ve had lots, he ensures me that I can get back to where I was, and with his help and guidance, I do.
- What advice can you offer to others who are looking to get in shape/become healthier/starting to exercise etc…: Don’t give up! I’ve come along way and fallen down for long periods of time but with a personal trainer it’s a lot easier to get back on track and stay on track. My advice to others is get yourself a knowledgeable personal trainer and don’t give up!
