MUSCLE ACTIVATION TECHNIQUES
Muscle Activation Techniques is a revolutionary approach to the assessment and correction of muscular imbalances, joint instability and limitations in range of motion within the human body. MAT is designed to balance the muscular system and utilizes a unique systematic format to “jumpstart” the muscles in order for them to function with maximum efficiency.
Due to stress, overuse, injury, trauma, etc, some muscles within your body have down regulated their contractile capability. The MAT process allows us to identify and treat those muscles that have been inhibited and re-establish an environment for them to contract and support your structure on demand.
It is important to remember that we live in a symmetrical body, however the activities we chose to participate in are largely asymmetrical and can lead to strength deficits from right to left sides. When attempting to engage in exercise, we typically implement movements that are symmetrical by nature and as a result further exacerbate the imbalances that are present. MAT will provide an opportunity to implement asymmetrical solutions to compliment your exercise routine.
Most of us experience tightness throughout our muscular system on a regular basis. Other health solutions may focus on the tightness as the root cause of the issue, however MAT looks to identify the underlying weakness that could be leading to the tension in the first place. Through a procedure conducted by an MAT specialist, we are able to pin point the muscles that cannot contract properly and address those issues through manual techniques.
If you struggle to fit into a conventional rehabilitation or traditional fitness regimen, Muscle Activation Techniques looks at tailoring a program around your body and it’s current ability.
