This blog post will most likely be the last one for January 2017!  Can you believe it?  We have already blasted through the month and hopefully you have made some great changes with your consistency this year!  Now I will most likely be talking about consistency when it comes to your nutrition and workouts, but that’s not the only thing that requires more consistency.  Everything in life would benefit form more consistency!
Let’s take a look at this scenario.  You are in some form of discomfort or pain.  Possibly caused by an injury, or perhaps just years and years of repetitive motions and life instances.  Regardless, you aren’t moving as well as you should be.  This is a sign that something is not right and needs to be corrected.  So what do we do?  Hopefully you all answered with solve the problem!  Any form of therapy whether it is physio, chiropractic, kinesiology, muscle activation and even exercise are all viable options, and when used in the right context, these forms of therapy can be fantastic!  Now here is the downside.  Once we are feeling better, we tend to stop receiving the care that helped get us better and fall back into our old ways.  Ultimately, this will end up repeating the cycle and no forward progression will ever be made.
If we want to see progression with out health and not have to deal with a “re-occuring” injury, then we need to take consistent steps on a regular basis to improve that situation.  This could be in the form of a regular massage every month, or chiropractic adjustment to help keep your structure aligned.  From a muscular standpoint, this is where MAT and custom exercise comes into play.  Ensure that your muscles are activating and supporting you properly not just for the time being, but to continue with that process.  Once muscles are activating properly, take those new signals and strengthen them.  Make sure that they don’t regress and fall back into the old ways as before.  Progress forwards by making consistent steps towards improving your health.
Exercise is so much more than just a means of loosing weight.  It truly is a form of medicine!  And this medicine is unlike any other you have taken, but the outcomes are amazing and the side effects are even better!  More on this next time, but until then, keep taking those steps towards a new you!  Consistency is always the key!
