We had a great Athletic Academy throughout the summer months and saw some incredible improvements with a lot of our athletes! Our Matrix Athletic Academy continues to grow and we are excited to see youth athletes take their training and long term athletic development seriously! Here are some big points that we would like to highlight!
Greg Moulton was named the Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Newmarket Hurricanes Jr A hockey club! This is a very exciting opportunity that he has taken on and is looking forward to seeing the progress made by each player this coming season. With the addition to the Hurricanes staff, Matrix of Motion will be working with the team on a weekly basis to help improve their performance and aid in injury prevention!
Another great story comes from an aspiring swimmer, Caleb Arndt. If you have followed our Facebook page or Instagram feed, you will have seen some pictures of Caleb with his off season training throughout the summer months. Caleb is a dedicated athlete and has spent hours in the gym to improve his performance and shed time off each event he competes in. When you put the time and effort in, it’s always nice to start to see it pay off, and for Caleb, that time is starting to come through. He was chosen by Canada’s National Swim Program to participate in a camp for up and coming Olympic athletes. This is a big step in the right direction, although we recognize that a lot of work still needs to be done before his dream becomes a reality. Nonetheless, it’s in motion!
We have also had the opportunity to start working with the East Gwillimbury Soccer Club U16 and U14 rep girls teams as well as the Newmarket Hawks Bantam A baseball team. With our long-term athletic development program in place, these athletes will be able to excel at their sport now, and for years to come!
Stay tuned for more updates as the training season continues for these athletes!
